“Pebbles” and “Mountains”
•
Doing “big things” and purpose are not the same thing. Sometimes, people believe that only those who accomplish “big things” have purpose. They believe that having purpose means doing things on large scales, and they become dismayed when the things they do fail to command a lot of attention. These people have “mountain” aspirations, and there is nothing wrong with mountains other than having too many would quickly become problematic.
Many of us will never garner national or international attention. When we share our purpose with the world, our purpose is deposited in the form of “pebbles.” What many do not realize is that the “pebbles” in life are extremely effective. Small “pebbles” change things in a variety of ways. They strengthen; they inspire; they support; they encourage. And the great thing is, because they are not massive or overwhelming, you can store up pebbles to be used when you need them most.
I am thankful for the “pebbles” I’ve received. They’ve made a significant difference in my own life and in the lives of others with whom I’ve shared them. You must do your purpose. Someone needs the “pebble” that only you can give.
